In terms of product availability, both Unimart and The Marketplace won for having 100% of the 65 SKUs surveyed available. Followed by Puregold and Super8, which have 95.38% and 89.23% product availability, respectively.

With a total of 63 SKUs out of 76, MerryMart Grocery outperformed the competition. It is followed by Retailer 2, which is 2.59% more expensive, and Retailer 3, which is 3.57% more expensive.

In terms of Product Availability

In terms of availability, Waltermart bested the other two retailers with 97.37% availability out of the 76 SKUs surveyed. It’s followed closely by SM Hypermarket at 96.05%. Despite winning in terms of price, MerryMart Grocery has the lowest rate of availability at 89.47%.

The winner of this week’s price survey is S&R. Out of the two membership shopping stores surveyed, which consisted of 61 SKUs, the price survey revealed that Landers is 3.66% more expensive. Nevertheless, it’s worth noting that the two top membership shopping stores in the Philippines maintain very competitive price points as there is a small gap between the total price of all the items surveyed.

In terms of Promo

After the promo prices were applied, the result shows that Landers is still more expensive than S&R at 3.29%. However, it is worth noting that S&R has 7 promo items whereas Landers only has 4. With a promo-driven and price sensitive strategy, S&R emerged as the clear winner on this round of price survey.
