• An average of 30 -70 items available across all retailers being surveyed shall be canvassed
• Participants are ranked based on the total price of all comparable items (SKUs available across all retailers)

The winner of this week’s price survey is Puregold. Out of the four retailers surveyed, with 61 SKUs in total, Puregold excelled in terms of pricing. It is followed by Retailer 2, which is 2.62% more expensive, Retailer 3 at 2.82%, and Retailer 4 at 12.96%.

In terms of Promo

In terms of availability, Puregold and SM Supermarket had all the 61 SKUs surveyed. Followed by Allday Supermarket with only 1 missing item, and Metro Supermarket with 4 missing items.

The winner of this week’s price survey is S&R. Out of the two membership shopping stores surveyed, which consisted of 61 SKUs, the price survey revealed that Landers is 3.66% more expensive. Nevertheless, it’s worth noting that the two top membership shopping stores in the Philippines maintain very competitive price points as there is a small gap between the total price of all the items surveyed.

In terms of Promo

After the promo prices were applied, the result shows that Landers is still more expensive than S&R at 3.29%. However, it is worth noting that S&R has 7 promo items whereas Landers only has 4. Ultra Mega Supermarket remained true to its tagline – “Presyong mababa, mas pinababa pa”. Out of the 6 retailers surveyed last May 8 – 12, Ultra Mega Supermarket ranked first in best price. It is followed by Kemp Mart and Super 8, which are just more expensive by 0.06% and 2.42% respectively.

In terms of availability

With regards to availability, SM Supermarket presented the lowest number of missing items having only 3 missing SKUs. It was followed by Puregold and Super 8 Grocery both missing only 4 SKUs. Retailer 6, having the highest recorded number of missing items reported that while the products are being sold on their stores, their stocks cannot accommodate the demand of sales in their stores.
